The power of art to bring people together, spread a message and lift spirits will be evident as Paint the Town Pink transforms Red Bank to Pink Bank starting on Saturday, May 2. Riverview Medical Center and numerous community partners want to encourage women 40 and older to have an annual mammogram, to raise money for mammograms for uninsured women and to raise awareness about early detection of breast cancer.
The Count Basie will be home to a screenwriting workshop entitled, "The Inside Track for Screenwriting with Pete Fox". The course is for two nights and occurs on April 25th and April 26th at 10AM and costs $280 per person.
The Count Basie will be hosting a workshop entitled, "Back to the Basics: Country Songwriting Techniques" for aspiring country songwriters on April 23rd and April 30th at 8:30pm. The class which will be taught by award winning singer and composer Mark Miklos will teach the basics of songwriting including themes, rhyming, structure, and creating hooks.
The Red Bank Community Church's art exhibit "Pain and Forgiveness" will have it's opening reception on April 24th. Admission is free and open to the public. Aspiring artists who wish to have their work shown are limited to 3 entries per person and must have the work submitted by April 22nd.
Doug Z will be showcasing his unique style, a combination of spray paint, stencils and hypnotizing patterns, at the McKay Imaging Studio & Gallery this Friday the 13th.
