A Full Day Celebrating Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr @ Red Bank Charter School

by David Prown

The Red Bank Charter School (RBCS) hosted a community wide celebration on Monday,
Jan. 20, 2014 to come together as a community to honor Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The thematic spirit was to encourage a peaceful and harmonious society which were the
ideals and spirit that the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., represented.

The commemoration began at 7:45 A.M. in the Omni Room at RBCS, with a special
complimentary breakfast gathering featuring bagels, juice and coffee. Some of the
activities and special guests included: A performance by The Actors Playground,

Executive Director of Lunch Break Gwendolyn Love, explained the importance of
service and being active members of our community, and a silent walk through the
town of Red Bank where the RBCS student’s message was held.

Red Bank, NJ

My name is David Prown and I am the 3rd generation owner of Prown's Home Improvements here in Red Bank. I have been working in the family business since 1989. I am a 4th generation Red Bank resident (and my kids are 5th Generation). I was raised in the spirit of community service, involvement, and commitment. I spend a couple hours every day volunteering with a specific emphasis on the underdog youth of Red Bank. It is my passion, my calling, and my gift to Red Bank. I can't get enough of giving back and not giving up. This blog allows me share with fellow Red Bank enthusiasts my passion for this town.
