Red Bank Middle School Spelling Champion Crowned
This past Friday, the Red Bank Middle School held the finals of their 6th annual
Spelling Bee contest. Congratulations to 6th Grader Sandra Paz who spelled "characteristic" correctly for the win. 7th Grader Sarena Dixon was runner up.
Both girls won a gift card to a bookstore. Also Miss Paz will move on to the next round
as part the Asbury Park Press regional spelling contest (details to follow).
Winner of that advances to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C.
Pictured here event moderator and teacher Mrs. Melissa Osmun and the 40+ school finalists
from grades 4-8th (who won their respective classroom qualifier) and who participated
in the spelldown.
The school population is approximately 385 kids.
Good stuff.
