La Esquina (The Corner) Opposite the RB Train Station is a Hidden Gem

La Esquina

Maybe I'm a little biased that I know the family, but I love going to La Esquina for several reasons.

1st, Senor Ayala is always behind the counter while son Elias is doing lot's of other
tasks.

2nd - RBR sophomore Abraham is there both before school from 5-7 am and after school till
closing working - pretty amazing.

3rd - I'm usually the only yank/gringo who goes in and I enjoy the looks on the customers faces especially when I start talking to the owners and sit down among them to eat. Plus I get to practice my lousy Spanish.

4th - Always easy to park (and no meters)

Okay - let's talk food. I go there at least 1 morning a week for a Pork roll/egg and cheese with some spicy sauce - light (really) and awesome.

For lunch last Saturday I had a Carne Enchilada Tortas (big roll sandwich) which contains
spicy meat - outstanding. For Sunday lunch I had a Chile Rellenos Tortas with chili, peppers and rice. Not real messy and incredibily tasty.
