2ND Annual Pilgrim Baptist Church Community Work Day Packed with Volunteers
When it comes to organizing community events/community outreach, I'm not sure if anybody
does it better here in Red Bank than the Pilgrim Baptist Church on Shrewsbury Ave. Under
the leadership of Pastor Porter, well over 100 volunteers enthusiastically gathered this
past Saturday to give back to the community.
After checking in, getting a great team T-shirt, we choose the area of "volunteerism"
that we wanted to do (Painting, Landscaping, Street clean up, House Cleaning, Evangalism,
or Knitting).
Next we had a terrific breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, fruit etc. and got to know
others on our volunteering team.
After some inspirational words from Pastor and Ass't Pastor Darlene Wilson, we set out to
do good work in the community and luckily the rain stopped.
Great day, great fellowship and we definitely did something good for the community.
Tremendously well organized event and we finished off the day with a very nice lunch.
Can't wait to do this again next year.
