One of Red Banks Greatest Singers and True Gentlemen is Progressing in Life Beautifully
No doubt, John Cross is known throughout this eastern Monmouth County area for having maybe the "most golden" of golden voices and he has been sharing this gift for years. Yet, entering his junior year at the College of New Jersey, John continues to stay focused on his career which surprisingly does not include singing.
John decided early on that singing would simply be a hobby for him. Despite urgings from
many to be part of the RBR Vocal Major program, he simply choose to sing in the choir
(regular and gospel). Many, many folks continually urge him to try out for American Idol
and with that killer smile and says I'm not interested.
I had heard of this young man for years and finally saw him perform in 8th grade at the Deal School in a benefit concert entitled "John Cross and Friends". From his 1st note, I knew he had a special gift.
Got to know him at RBR and he even asked me to organize a benefit concert for Katrina which
he would headline (a wonderfully successful event 3 years ago held at the RB Middle School).
John is now at TCNJ majoring in Finance and minoring in Economics (not too shabby). Still
he continues singing as a hobby being an active member of an acapella, international singing group which that performs at schools, hospitals etc.
From singing, to academics, to modesty, to charisma, John Cross has the whole package and
will be fun to follow his career.
