The Best Summer Time Snack/Meal You Have Never Tried
I live and die for Elote Loco (A.K.A. Crazy Corn) ... my absolute favorite summer snack.
Put this on your summer check list to try and enjoy.
Take cooked corn on a stick, then coated with a little mayonaisse, cover with some grated Mexican Cheese (Mayo makes the cheese stick to the corn) and you get "con picante" (with the spicy red power which I love) or "sin picante" without.
Available every Saturday and Sunday at Juanito's Mexican Market (across from Juanito's restaurant on the corner of Monmouth St. and West St. Sorry, there is no sign above the store front). Go to the meat counter in the back.
At only $ 1.50 to $ 2 each, it's quite a bargain and you can eat it on the stick. Do not eat in the car while driving as it is messy. You will see kids walking about town eating them (and it drips down their shirts).
I just order 2 and take them right outside and eat standing on the sidewalk.
